When facing a tragedy like the Haitian earthquake we must check ourselves before we respond out of ignorance. Jesus’ response to tragedy can serve as a lesson. Jesus is teaching that if we are not careful, we can think a tragedy is a targeted judgment of sin, when in fact; ALL tragedy is a result of the fallen world. The earth is groaning as in birth pains awaiting the redemptive work of God (Romans 8).

A true legacy is deposited into the life of someone whom you have left behind. It is pouring your life into another person in such a way that you impact them for the rest of their lives. Absalom wanted to leave a mark, but he made it in the wrong way. A counterfeit legacy is something that a person tries to do to be remembered, whereas a true legacy is left in the life of someone still here.
