Day 104: You Can’t Get There From Here

Proverbs 14:12

There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death.

Principle

Purpose determines direction; direction determines destiny.

We joke about it, but it is often very true that men do not want to ask anyone for directions. Now, we have GPS systems and maps built within our cars so that we can avoid the embarrassing gas station, “How do I get there from here?”

I’ve had a similar conversation with a lot of men. It’s not about taking a vacation or a business trip – it’s much more important – it’s about their destiny. They may have a vision – a glimpse of a picture to pursue that represents who they want to become and accomplish in life. However, very few men are smart enough to ask for directions.

We need to be smart. We should read biographies of men who’ve paved the way before us. We need to seek out direction from those who are well ahead of us. We need to look for mentors who can speak into our lives about the warnings and pitfalls of this particular road that we’re on.

Remember:

The road less traveled is often not as smooth as we like but the views will be amazing. Click To Tweet
