Day 109: A Beautiful Wife
Proverbs 19:14
Houses and wealth are inherited from parents,
but a prudent wife is from the Lord.
Principle
The beauty of a wife surpasses all of God’s gifts to men.
God created Man after His own image – male and female – He created them (Genesis 1:27). Then God said, “It is not good for man to be alone.” God surgically removed the feminine side of Man to fashion Woman. The male and female have perfect complementary designs.
“For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.” – Genesis 2:24 – 25
God gave many gifts to Man, but none surpass or can be compared to his greatest gift – the gift of a wife. She is Beauty.
The adjective that our Advisor uses, prudent, to modify, wife, describes the inner beauty that radiates from within her. It means to have dignity, class, success, intelligence, attractiveness, reserved, understanding, and upright.
“Husbands, in the same way, be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.” – 1 Peter 3:7
