Day 117: The Kiss of Betrayal

Proverbs 27:6

Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.

Principle

Betrayal always comes from someone with the proximity to kiss you.

It is one of the most insidious moments in scripture. During the last supper, Jesus dipped his bread and handed it to Judas. At that very moment, Satan entered Judas. Evil spirits have possessed many people, but the actual spirit of Satan has possessed very few people. Judas hastily leaves the room.

When Judas returned to the disciples, they were in the garden. As he approached, Judas kissed Jesus’ cheek. Think about that – Satan kissed the cheek of the Son of God.

Unfortunately, all of us have or will experience betrayal. It is always someone that you’ve trusted – someone whom you have allowed access into your life – someone that has proximity.
