Day 129: Mock Life and Life Will Mock You

Proverbs 9:12

If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; if you scorn, you alone will bear it and pay the penalty.

Principle

Live wisely, and wisdom will permeate your life; mock life and life will mock you.

When you make wise decisions, you’re the beneficiary of them. Wisdom is the ability to discern a matter, judge it by looking at the different angles, foreseeing the possibilities of a decision, and applying that decision.

However, you also receive a payback if you’re scornful. The word scorn means to act with impudence, foolishly, or as a mocker. Let me explain. There are a lot of men who make decisions without thinking. They’re flippant about life.

The good news and the bad news is that either way, the person receives the payback from either a life of wisdom or a life of foolishness.
