Day 133: Holy Frustration

Proverbs 13:12

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.

Principle

What you have hoped for will come to pass and fulfill your dream.

The prophet Daniel was troubled in spirit, and the visions that flickered in his mind became very disturbing. During a season of prayer, the angel Gabriel came to him in response to three weeks of fasting and prayer. Interestingly, Gabriel revealed insight into things happening during our prayer time. For the three weeks that Daniel had been praying, the prince of Persia (referring to a demonic principality) delayed his coming and answering Daniel’s prayer. (Daniel 10:12-14)

The Apostle Paul describes a “frustration” in our prayer time when we don’t know the answer to something that we need to know. In that case, the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness and actually prays through us!

I am reminded of this when I have been praying and expressing my faith yet have failed to receive it promptly – it can be extremely frustrating. This is a time to remember – nothing of great value is ever achieved without facing violent opposition.

The word deferred means to prolong, drag, or draw out. Don’t give up on what you have expressed your faith in and put your hope upon.
