Day 136: The LORD Determines Our Steps
Proverbs 16:09
We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.
Principle
Man plans the way he wants to live, but God makes him able to live it.
Man is extremely blessed with the capacity to think, plan, esteem, calculate, invent, make a judgment, compute, count, and imagine. We can close our eyes and, with our imagination, design a yard, construct a home and fill it with furnishing. Then after we create it, we can calculate the cost of it. Then we can judge whether or not we can afford it.
As good as it is that we can make plans, it’s even better when we align those plans with God’s directional intent for His purposes.
God doesn’t keep secrets from us, but he hides them for us. He holds them close to Himself so that we will seek Him to find out those deep purposes that will align with our planning.
Most of the secrets that I’ve learned from God come in the night – dreams and visions – seem to be the languages of the Spirit. So, don’t waste another night just sleeping.
I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night, my heart instructs me. (Psalm 16:7)
