Day 155: The Bread & Wine of Violence

Proverbs 4:16-17

For they cannot rest until they do evil;
they are robbed of sleep till they make someone stumble.
They eat the bread of wickedness
and drink the wine of violence.

Principle

Some men have taken the communion elements of violence.

Jesus made an astonishing statement, “For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man” (Matthew 24:37). How were the days of Noah?

There are many comparisons of the generation of Noah and this present generation but most notably was the violence of humanity. Every inclination of the thoughts of men’s hearts conceived wickedness.

In our culture, we’re seeing the heart of men turn toward wicked imaginations. Some men have purposed themselves to do evil. We have made violence a type of entertainment – immature minds don’t distinguish between the real and the imagined – they feed on the spilling of blood and become thirsty for flesh – the bread and wine of violence.

As fathers, we need to make sure that our sons have a moral code of good versus evil. We should be certain that they’re not feeding upon the elements of violence – video games that use role-playing and fantasy arts that replace sound minds with delusional minds. Don’t allow your son to become obsessed with gaming.

God has bigger plans for him than sitting on the couch playing fantasy games. Click To Tweet

    When he reads Proverbs four he skips verses 19 and 20.
