Day 179: Leadership Abuse

Proverbs 28:16

Among leaders who lack insight, abuse abounds, but the future is bright for one who hates corruption.

Principle

Never underestimate the destructive power of simple-minded men.

Where are the leaders? We’re facing a real crisis of leadership in politics, business, church, communities, and in the home. Greed, timidity, aimlessness, narcissism, and corruption are rampant among the current collection of leaders.

“Where the purpose is unknown, abuse is inevitable.” – Myles Munroe

If a man doesn’t understand his purpose as a leader, those under his responsibility will suffer abuse.

For many years, I consulted churches, non-profits, and businesses on leadership and principles for increase. I can’t tell you how many scenarios I found where the leadership didn’t know their purpose. The collateral damage of these men was horrendous.

Unfortunately, we have too many leaders who have their own agenda and ideology rather than doing what is best for whom they’re responsible for leading. However, for those leaders who know how to lead and hate the corruption of their purpose, the future is bright.

As authentic men, we have a responsibility as leaders who know our purpose as a leader, not to abuse those under our responsibility.
