Day 185: A Lifestyle of Right Living

Proverbs 4:18

The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.

Principle

A lifestyle of right living makes maturity a brilliant example to see.

Most people, when they grow old, bend, slow down, and take on darkness with their age. Have you seen the scarring of sin and the age spots of wickedness? It doesn’t have to be that way. We can live in such a way that as we mature, we become a brighter example of godliness.

A professor in college stood out in the most remarkable way – she was the most beautiful older woman I’ve ever seen. Her eyes were bright – her posture was elegant – the words that she spoke were not slurred but were clear and articulate. She knew the Word of God like the back of her hand. She had three earned doctorates – a brilliant professor. I marveled at her example of godliness.

One day she said, “I am working on my old age face – and I want it to be a happy face – bright and cheerful.”

Moses is a biblical example of this brilliance of right living – when he died at the full age of 120, his eyes were not weak, nor his strength gone. (Read Deuteronomy 34:7)

I still think that he doesn’t read verses 19 and 20 of Psalm 4.
