Day 244: Choking on Bitter Fruit

Proverbs 1:31

Therefore, they must eat the bitter fruit of living their own way, choking on their own schemes.

Principle

If a man devices his schemes, he will suffer from his stupidity.

We’ve previously talked about the Law of Seed – in this case; the fruit is bitter because the seeds were destruction. I’m amazed at the repetitive stupidity of some men. They come up with their own devices, plans, schemes, and principals – then expect to escape destruction as if they’re going to beat the odds. It doesn’t work that way.

When men come up with their schemes and principles, they will have to live with them and try to swallow their bitterness – usually choking on them.

Proverbs is written so that we can live by the wisdom of God – applying his principles and plans for our lives.

This describes how I’ve lived most of my life. I was like “Radar O’Riley” from M.A.S.H., presenting to God a clipboard with all my Life Plans, saying, “Just sign here, here, and…..here, and I’ll get started on these right away”. We should never expect God to O.K. our plans, we should pray to have His plans revealed to us. His plans are ALWAYS better than ours!

It’s great that you’ve learned to not lean on your own understanding but acknowledge God in all of your ways. Great comment. Thanks for reading and sharing.
