Day 266: The Ways of My Father
Proverbs 23:26
My son, give me your heart
and let your eyes delight in my ways.
Principle
When we follow God’s ways, we acknowledge that His ways are superior to ours.
Remember, the Hebrew word for heart is the “seat of purposes, appetites, and emotions.” That means that when you align your purposes to the Father, your cravings will thirst and hunger for Him – thus, your emotions will follow.
Men relate differently than women do – women relate face-to-face sharing feelings – while men relate shoulder-to-shoulder facing a challenge. That doesn’t mean that men aren’t emotional – it means that our emotions flow from our purposes.
That’s why the foundational philosophy of FivestarMan is to speak to man’s heart – when we focus on a man’s purposes, he will cast off the things that could constrain him.
When we follow God’s ways, we acknowledge that His ways are superior to ours. His purposes for us are better than whatever plans we could concoct.
