Day 288: What’s On Your Playlist?

Day 288: What’s On Your Playlist?
October 15, 2014 Neil Kennedy

Proverbs 15:15

A miserable heart means a miserable life; a cheerful heart fills the day with song.

Principle

Allow your heart to express music.

Music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul. – Martin Luther

Music has an amazing connection with a man. A song can dig deep within a man’s heart and draw upon his purposes, appetites, and emotions. Some songs can trace back to a particular incident in your past. It can stir the exact feelings you were feeling on that day, and you’re either smiling or weeping within seconds. Music can also lift you, build your courage, and arouse your emotions to incredible excitement.

I don’t listen to a lot of music. My playlist only has a few songs. I’m not always playing songs in the background of my life. However, when I’ve had a tough day or two, I want to turn on music that can cleanse my soul — a song to shift my thinking. Music is like washing your feet from the journey of life.

Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. – Berthold Auerbach

James said, “Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.” (James 5:13)
