Day 288: What’s On Your Playlist?

Day 288: What’s On Your Playlist?

Proverbs 15:15

A miserable heart means a miserable life; a cheerful heart fills the day with song.

Principle

Allow your heart to express music.

Music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul. – Martin Luther

Music has an amazing connection with a man. A song has the power to dig deep within the heart of a man and draw upon his purposes, appetites, and emotions. Some songs can trace back to a particular incident in your past. It can stir the exact emotions that you were feeling on that day and within seconds you’re either smiling or weeping. Music can also lift you up, build your courage, arouse your emotions to incredible levels of excitement.

To be very honest, I don’t listen to a lot of music. My playlist only has a few songs. I’m not always playing songs in the background of my life. However, when I’ve had a tough day or two, I find myself wanting to turn on some music that can cleanse my soul — a song to shift my thinking. Music is like washing your feet from the journey of life.

Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. – Berthold Auerbach

James said, “Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.

Remember:

There are times when you need to lift up your voice in a song.
