Day 30: Skeptics Swear To Themselves

Proverbs 30:1

The skeptic swore, “There is no God! No God!
I can do anything I want!
I’m more animal than human;
so-called human intelligence escapes me.

Principle

Skeptics swear to themselves – Intelligent men give praise to God.

This kind of swearing is pretty common in our day. We’ve had a few decades of absent-minded people exclaiming that we’re really just a link in the chain of animal evolution. As weak as it could be, the theory has one primary goal, which is to claim the absence of God and the animalistic nature of man.

What does this kind of reasoning achieve? Two things primarily – one, without a God, all behavior is excusable; secondly, man’s behavior is rational since man is merely carnal.

The fallout of this kind of thinking has detrimental effects upon us. It denies God’s existence, even though the evidence of created design and intellectual order is everywhere and in everything upon the earth and throughout the laws of the universe. Paul tells us that this kind of futile thinking is the seed of all kinds of perversion – including sexual perversions. (Romans 1)

Brutal thinking also eliminates purpose from the equation of humanity. Without creation, there is simply no meaning, no law, no reason, no order, or justice, no intelligence, no morality, and no love.

Don’t listen to the skeptic, he’s brutish and foolish to the things of God. Click To Tweet
