Day 317: Don’t Refuse Loving Your Child

Proverbs 13:24

A refusal to correct is a refusal to love;
love your children by disciplining them.

Principle

Without guidance, your child will go wild. With guidance—directional intent—your child will have joy.

It is a scene repeated much too often—a young man gets involved with a crime and is injured, jailed, or worse, dead. The parents talk about what a good boy he was, but the facts prove otherwise. He was involved in criminal activity for years, and it’s caught up to him.

What went wrong?

When parents don’t discipline their children—they don’t love them.

That sounds contrary to what society would argue, but it’s true. If a parent fails to lead and give their children directional intent, they are hopelessly lost.

When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild.
But whoever obeys the law is joyful.Proverbs 29:18

We must give our children directional intent to secure a positive and successful life.
