Day 322: What’s In A Name?

Proverbs 18:10

God’s name is a place of protection—
good people can run there and be safe.

Principle

As believers in Christ Jesus, we can invoke the most powerful name given to man — the Name of Jesus!

A name is the identification of a person. Historically, names were often assigned to individuals based on their occupation or residence. It wasn’t always complimentary, as in the case of “Jesus of Nazareth, son of Joseph.” Nathaniel exclaimed, “Nazareth, can anything good come from there?”

However, the person of Jesus exalted the name to be above all names. At the name of Jesus, every knee will bow—on earth, under the earth, and in heaven—and every tongue will make a confession that Jesus Christ is Lord. (Philippians 2: 5-11)

“There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” -Acts 4:12

There is NO OTHER NAME that compares to the name of Jesus. This is extremely important, especially in our modern culture that wants to clump Jesus in with every other name used for gods – which are not gods but deceptive spirits. Jesus is more than a Rabbi, a Teacher, the Prophet, or a historical person. Jesus is the Messiah, prophesied about with irrefutable evidence and incalculable odds of fulfilling the very precise and exact prophecies.

According to MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), the odds of the person of Jesus fulfilling eight prophesies in the Bible are 1 in over 100 Trillion, yet, Jesus fulfilled 353 Old Testament prophesies. The math adds up and is evidence of His deity.

Yet, the evidence that I rely upon the most is personal. It is evident in my life change. I am redeemed.

If you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, you are also redeemed. You are born of incorruptible seed, the Seed of God’s Word. Run to the Name and be safe!

Remember:

The Name of Jesus is the place of protection, you can run to Him and be safe. Click To Tweet
