Day 325: Get All the Help You Can

Proverbs 20:18

Form your purpose by asking for counsel,
then carry it out using all the help you can get.

Principle

To gain an understanding of your purpose, you will need to have good mentors and counselors.

When I first received the commission to build a movement to resurrect authentic manhood, I felt impressed to “focus upon men’s purposes, and they will cast off the things that constrain him.” When a man understands his purposes, his life becomes a passionate pursuit of authentic manhood.

During an interview today, I was asked, “If you could have breakfast or lunch with three people from history, excluding someone from the Bible, who would you choose?”

My answer surprised my interviewer—I responded, “I have done that by reading biographies and books men have written. I can have breakfast with the great investor, Warren Buffett. I can have lunch with David Green. I can have dinner with the late Steve Jobs.”

Amazingly, I can do that for very little money. With a few dollars, I can purchase their books. I can gain the highlight of their entire life experience with very little exchange on my part. I don’t have to know them personally to receive the best they offer — that is their life lesson.

If you’re going to fulfill your purpose, you will need counsel.

Good morning Neil, you use Proverbs 20 for both day 324 and 325. Maybe you did that on purpose?
