Day 348: A Nation Weakened

Proverbs 14:34

God-devotion makes a country strong;
God-avoidance leaves people weak.

Principle

“America is great because she is good. If America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.” -Alexis de Tocqueville

I’ve noticed something remarkable in observing our nation—the United States. We are amazingly resilient people that border on goodness. At times, we dare to rise against any foe that would desire to dethrone our way of life, yet, we gradually give up our freedoms for the seduction of security.

The security of the nation relies upon its devotion to God. When a government chooses to avoid God, it is exposed to a nemesis of evil.

Let me give you an example, so we’re not just talking around the edges.

When President Bill Clinton redefined “sexual relations” yet was not held accountable for the indignity of his actions will holding office, the collateral damage rippled throughout the nation. Young people and children began to exchange sexual favors with one another and call it “friends with benefits.” Naive children were the collateral for their parent’s refusal to hold onto righteousness.

We’ve seen mendacity (the art of deception) taken to a new level in American politics. Historically, politicians have been known to speak untruths; however, the public rebuked and held charlatans accountable for such manipulation. Now, the public is choosing to believe lies, which is problematic.

Believing a lie is the quickest way to have delusional thoughts and confused minds. The naive children will become collateral by not rebuking liars and removing them from office. They will grope in confusion and live in the fog of fantasies.

However, your children will be taught of the Lord and experience great peace. As you lead your family with courage and character, they will excel in the land. They will rise above the evil around them and walk in victory.

Remember:

It is a cowardly generation that will not fight the foe that will one day enslave their children. Click To Tweet
