Day 65: Resist Scarcity

Proverbs 6:10-11

A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—
and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.

Principle

We must actively oppose poverty and resist scarcity.

I’ve had the opportunity and rare privilege to meet some amazing people who are overcoming generations of systemic poverty through the transformational efforts of ChildHope. This amazing ministry reaches Latin America and the Caribbean barrios to teach children with Gospel and educational efforts. The program works because of the gifted and dedicated teachers and administrators throughout their educational system. My wife and I have sponsored many children through the 24 years of knowing ChildHope.

I hate poverty. I hate what it does to humanity. I can’t stomach the pain that it causes children, the embarrassment to women, the lack of dignity for men. I’ve tasted of poverty, and it makes me want to spit it out – I hate it.

Poverty is not God’s plan for man. It is the result of the curse upon mankind. Our nemesis’s sole objective, Satan, opposes us – the one who comes to steal, kill, and destroy.

Don’t brush this off as a “prosperity gospel” devotional – that’s not my intent. This is about tapping into the entrepreneurial deposit that God has purposed for you so that you can meet the needs of your family, grant their desires, and finance your purpose. It’s not about cars, clothes, and cottages – it is about your cause.

Remember:

Your entrepreneurial hand gathers so that your philanthropic hand can scatter. Click To Tweet
