Day 89: Shake, Rattle, and Roll

Proverbs 30:21

Three things are too much for even the earth to bear,
yes, four things shake its foundations—
when the janitor becomes the boss,
when a fool gets rich,
when a whore is voted “woman of the year,”
when a “girlfriend” replaces a faithful wife.

Principle

The sin of man shakes the earth.

The charlatan apocalyptic eco-evangelists blame man for global warming – I’m sorry, they’ve changed the term to climate change – let me be more accurate. Their thesis is that we’re the planet’s problem – our consumption of resources such as food, clothing, shelter, and transportation is dramatically altering the climate to become uninhabitable for future generations.

I agree that the earth experiences repercussions from mankind – that is a biblical concept and is evident – however, the cause-effect of climate change is the result of man’s sin – his narcissistic and flippant attitude toward the precepts and principles of godliness.

Here are four things that cause the earth to tremble under our feet:

  1. When a janitor becomes the boss. This isn’t speaking against those who start in life in a servanthood position and grow into the ranks of leadership. There are plenty of other Proverbs that inspire that kind of promotion. This is speaking of someone who hasn’t qualified himself through progressive faithfulness. The earth trembles at the thought of a novice in leadership.
  2. When a fool gets rich. Wealth should be the byproduct of productive and intelligent people, which should not be wasted on an imbecile. There are plenty of examples of those who have means without meaning. They’re disasters.
  3. When a whore is voted “woman of the year.” It’s repulsive to the earth when brazen, and whorish women are celebrated.
  4. When a girlfriend replaces a faithful wife. The earth moves under the feet of husbands who break covenant with the wife of their youths and replaces her with sexual flings.
