Day 93: Don’t Be A Know-It-All

Proverbs 3:7

Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil!

Principle

You don’t know what you don’t know.

I was embarking on life as a young man. I had a poor education, no prospects of a future, and as lost as most 18-year-olds. I was on my own and trying to make a living – young, naive, and desperate.

A book was on my shelf for months, yet I hadn’t broken the binding on the cover. Who reads a free book? There it was unfolded – holding advice and wisdom awaiting my discovery.

When I finally opened it, I couldn’t put it down; Zig Ziglar’s book, See You At The Top, changed the course of my daily routine, thus changing my life. After reading Zig’s book, I developed an insatiable appetite for knowledge and optimistic goal setting.  His southern drawl and idiosyncratic humor appealed to me.

His book also taught me to run to God. He kindled a fire for me to know God’s Word.
