This year has been a very special year for my wife, Kay, and I. Our first grandsons were born exactly one month apart—Kingston Bear on October 18 and Maverick Reid on November 18.
It was a surreal moment when my daughters, Ari Kennedy and Alex Schauer, came to me excited about what they read in my book Raise a Man: A Mother’s Guide to Raising Her Son to Become a FivestarMan. You always hope your kids read your books! As we talked about it, Ari and Alex both expressed a connection to women who are raising sons and felt a lack of resources were available for these moms.
So I’m pleased to announce that the FivestarMan brand is expanding to include mothers with our new platform, Raise a Man.
Together, we collaborated on a new Raise a Man Video Series and 35 Day Study for moms. We’re honestly just sitting at our dining room table discussing the Truths from the Word, but there was such an anointing in those moments together.
This project is so important to me. When I was a boy, my father left when I was 5 years old and I wouldn’t have a relationship with him until I was an adult. I would have liked for my mom to have a place of encouragement as she raised my brother and me. I wish she had a community of mothers to speak life into her world.
Raise a Man is for women like my mother and women like my daughters.
Women who believe their sons can change the world. We want mothers to know there is a community of believers on her side, cheering her on.
Invite the women in your life that are raising sons to join my wife and daughters at raiseaman.com. We’ve already heard from mothers that will be studying Raise a Man with their friends as a small group study and we’re excited to see what God does through their lives.
