Imagine this…
There is nothing more Christ-like in leadership than recruiting, encouraging, and leading a small group of men. Then seeing those men embark on changing the world, or ‘turning the world upside down.’
As a group leader, you will have a very important task of encouraging the Challenger. He will be discovering the Five Passions of Authentic Manhood. As he gains understanding of his purposes, he will be challenged.
That is where you come in. You will be used by the Holy Spirit to speak encouraging words.
But continually encourage one another every day, as long as it is called “Today” [and there is an opportunity], so that none of you will be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [its cleverness, delusive glamour, and sophistication]. -Hebrews 3:13 (Amplified Version)
There will be days that you feel ‘prompted’ to call, text, or meet with one or more of your Challengers. Don’t brush this off. It will more than likely be the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
Many times, we ignore the nudges of the Spirit. As we lead men, we are cooperating with the Holy Spirit. He knows so much more than we do, so let’s not lean onto our own understanding and rely on His promptings. This is servant leadership.
