Day 31 | Adventurous Spirit

Be A Mentor

“These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come.”  1 Corinthians 10:11

When you are a player, you need a coach.  A coach helps draw out the skills that are within you.

Even champions need a coach.

Solomon said, “When the ax is dull, more skill is required.”  You must sharpen yourself and your efforts to be a winner.  Developing a winner mentality is not done so that you become boastful and obnoxious. Rather that you may be the best at your game and draft others to new levels of competition as well.

KEYS TO GREAT COACHING

  • Know the game.
  • Practice the fundamentals.
  • Conditioning yourself for the game.
  • Improve your skills.
  • Discipline your emotions.
  • Keep your head in the game.
  • Pre-play your game.  You have the ability to simulate conditions of the game.
  • Know that team play always trumps individual play.
  • Keep it simple.

Players are empowered by the confidence and poise of a coach.

Games and sports serve as examples to help translate the skills we master on the field of contest into the field of life.  Developing these skills will help you reach new levels in life.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE

Rent a movie with the storyline of a coach and player relationship.  Look for the key lesson that is told in the story.  How can you apply that into your life?

I love remember the Titans. Perfection is never reached, but striving for it leaves nothing on the table.
